Backlinking ???
Backlinks are links from other sites pointing to your site, the site that has your backlink on must have similar content on it. For instance if you have a hubpage about “affiliate marketing” then the site pointing to your hubpage can be a youtube video about Google adsense and affiliate marketing.
Info on Google
Google is the smartest search engine around and it can detect if you are using all these other sites to promote you hubpage or website. To counter this you set up a string of sites each pointing to each other. This helps increase their page rank with the total end goal of increasing you main pages’ page rank (Which increases the traffic.)
SEO = pagerank
Pagerank is all about how high search engines rate you hubpage or webpage. There are many tools out there to check page rank (Hubpage –the site- has a page rank of 6)
Next make sure you optimize your keywords, the more keywords in your title the better. If you want an example Google the title of this hub:

I don’t have much competition there are only – 6100 other webpages like it. Where as if you Google:

There is a lot of competition (Results 1 - 10 of about 53,200,000)

Make sure you write quality content, if you can’t do that well then there’s still hope just stick to these guidelines:
1. Use Spellchecker.
2. Make sure it’s.
3. Make sure your hubs are at least 500 words long.
4. Get involved in hubpages (comment on other peoples hubs)
5. Don’t rush things.
6. Add a few pictures or a few pictures and one video.
7. Backlink extensively.
Stick to the basics if your bad a writing and you’ll do fine – Writing hubs is one of my weaker skills and every time I do it I get better at it.

Use Youtube to get a better pagerank
If you have a video recorder you can make short videos that you can put on Youtube to promote your hubpage or webpage. Youtube has a very high page rank which means it doesn’t take much for you to get noticed especially if you backlink you video.
On that note if your trying to raise the page rank (Your traffic) then don’t place links on your main site pointing to other sites (This decreases pagerank and thereby traffic)
